January
Snowstorm Statewide Jan. 9-18, 1950
January had the heaviest snowfall since the beginning of weather
recordkeeping (1890). For most locations, the period of January 9-18
brought the heaviest snows. All highways west of the Cascades and
through the Columbia River Gorge were closed due to large snow drifts.
The weather caused hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of property
damage.
