Overview

May's high temperatures were above average until the 5th. From the 6th through the 24th, the temperatures were mostly below normal, except for the 13th through the 15th, which were well above average. The remainder of the month had high temperatures staying above normal. Four days were at least 10°F above average (the 4th and the 26th through the 28th). One day had the high temperature over 10°F below expected, which was the 10th.

The low temperatures this month stayed mostly above average for the entire month. There were only 9 days in May that the low temperatures were below average. Three days had low temperatures at least 10°F above normal, the 14th, 15th, and 26th.

The average high temperature for the month was a little under 2 and a quarter degrees above expected, and the average low temperature was four degrees above normal.

A new high temperature record of 88 was set for the 27th, which is 1°F above the old record of 87, set in 1897.

No new low temperature records were made this month.

There was nearly four and a quarter inches of precipitation this month, which is a little over two and a quarter of an inches above what was expected.

Two new precipitation records were set this month. The amount of 1.11 inches on the 10th replaced the old record of 1.00 inch set in 1896 and the amount of 0.89 inch on the 19th replaced the 1996 record of 0.73 inch.

Total water year precipitation (since October 1) is 65% of normal.
